As of June 14th, 2001, former FL Govt. Jeb Bush signed into law Senate Bill 636, which amends the state wide grading scale by lowering the required ranges of percentage grade points. This new grading scale applies to grades 1 through 12:

Honor Roll Criteria

 

Kindergarten will be recognized at the end of the year using the following criteria (completion/promotion, citizenship and perfect attendance only)

1st-8th grade students will be recognized at the end of the 2016-2017 school year using the criteria below:

1st through 8th Grades

Principal’s Honor Roll
  • Academic Average 4.0 (All A’s)
  • Effort Grades – All 1’s
  • Conduct Average 4.0 (All A’s)
Superior Honor Roll
  • Academic Average 3.6 (All A’s and B’s)
  • Effort Grades – All 1’s and 2’s
  • Conduct Average 3.6 (All A’s and B’s)
Regular Honor Roll
  • Academic Average 3.50-3.59 (All A’s and B’s)
  • Effort Grades – All 1’s and 2’s
  • Conduct Average 3.0 and Higher (All A’s and B’s)
Citizenship Award
  • Effort Grades – All 1’s and 2’s
  • Conduct Average 4.0 (All A’s)
  • * Citizenship Honor roll will not be awarded to students who receive excessive tardies (10 or more) during the school year.
Perfect Attendance Honor Roll
  • No absences during the entire school year
Accelerated Reader Award
  • All students achieving their Accelerated Reader goal in each classroom
A+ Attitudes
  • Students demonstrating A+ Attitudes throughout the school year

Students will be recognized for perfect attendance at the end of the school year. Please discuss these awards with your child and monitor his/her grades closely. Encourage excellence in all areas by providing daily motivation. If your son/daughter qualifies for any of these awards, we will send you a special invitation to attend the ceremony.
